    6 parale pale red, handstruck from single Dies, a superb horizontal strip of six used in combination with 30 pa. blue on cover from Piatra to Galatz; the strip having large margins all round and barely touch at right, the 30 pa. with huge margins, all tied by framed "FRANCO / PIATRA" handstamps in black (Kiriac fig. 318). "Piatra / Moldova" cds (17/7) below and reverse with "Roman" transit cds of same day and Galatz arrival cds (19/7). Some flap faults on reverse, but an extremely rare double rate cover for the specialist. Unique. Illustrated in Edition d'Or on page 94 and in Handbook II on page 126. Cert. Heimbüchler (2010).     30 parale deep blue (shades), handstruck from single Dies, the superb unused block of 16 subjects (half a sheet) showing the central two rows in tête-bêche format (four pairs). Fresh colour: deep on central rows and pale on the outer rows, on exceedingly thin laid paper. Central crease away from the designs and minor age spots, but a fresh and fine multiple.     30 parale blue, handstruck from single Dies, used example on attractive 1864 cover to Bucharest tied by very rare "STIRBEIU" datestamp (6/8), lightly struck in blue with repeated strike below (Kiriac fig. 353). Bucharest arrival cds on reverse. Minor imperfections in the margin of the adhesive but Stirbei, a small village in Wallachia received just 1'600 of the 30 parale value. A charming and scarce cover.
