Austrian Consular Post Office in Bacau 1863: The famous cover bearing no less than twelve examples of the 3 soldi green, perf. 14., used on re-folded cover to Venice, all cancelled by centrally struck "BAKEU" datestamps (18/3) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 721, covers "RRR"). This remarkable multiple franking is mentioned in Tchilinghirian & Stephen "the collection of A. Rivolta contains an extraordinary cover" and was mailed via Austrian P.O. in Jassy (21/3), Vienna (26/3) and with Venice arrival (27/3). The upper row of six stamps all with horizontal file fold where they over-lapped the top of the cover and the addressee's name, originally deleted, has had the deletion removed. However, this franking is a "non-pareil" in Austrian Levant Postal History with no Bakeu cover in the 'Alexandria' or the Jerger collections of Levant. A major classic rarity of Levant and Romanian Postal History. Illustrated in N. Blistyar 'Donaufürstentümern und der Dobrudscha' on page 77, in Edition d'Or on page 160. Cert. Enzo Diena (1991).
