The vessel was later to be used by many French subjects to flee Haiti during the early revolution period. A fine and rare entire.

Reverse with Santiago de Cuba transit (Sept 17) and "New York / Paid All" arrival. A rare and most attractive cover, just three such frankings with the 1 cent are recorded.

Struck with triangular "T" marking as underpaid 2 c. on despatch and manuscript notation "0.20" (French centimes due). Taxed with France Postage Due 20 c. deep blue tied on arrival. A very rare and unusual cover - one of very few Postage Due usages and the sole recorded such combination of the Imperforate / Perforate issues.
