Illustrated in "St. Helena" by Edward Hibbert on page 38. A very rare error - just 12 examples can possibly exist. Cert. RPSL (1967) Gi = £ 15'000.rnrnNote: The error was caused by the Surcharge forme which consisted of four rows of 12 impressions, the third application of the forme was one row too high, thus doubly surcharging row 8. Normal for comparison, an extremely scarce stamp Gi = £ 1'100.rnNote: The overprint forme for the 'broad' Halfpenny was in five rows of 12 impressions. It is thought that all sheet were surcharged with the top five rows, then all sheets with a second application on the next five rows and so on. This would explain why some varieties occur four times on a sheet, for example the dropped "H", and others just once, for example the spaced "NY" from the last application of the forme.
