Manuscript endorsement of the Postmaster at top 'Certificacion Panamá / sale hoi 4 de Feb 1839, Gonzales'. Reverse with explanation of rate in manuscript 4 reales postage and 8 reales for registration, total 12 reales paid. The earliest recorded registered cover from Panama and an item of great beauty.
