1858: 40 parale greenish blue on white wove thin paper, the magnificent horizontal strip of four with clear to enormous margins on all sides, used on 1862 registered cover from Botosani (Moldova) to Bucharest (Wallachia); the adhesives cancelled by framed FRANCO / BOTOSCHENI handstamps (Kiriac fig. 304) with italic RECEPISSE alongside and circular BOTUSCHANI / MOLDOVA datestamp (May 3) below (fig 273), all struck in bright green ink. The adhesives all show 'Manual Re-Entries' in the 'Cyrillic 'P' and 'R' in 'PAR' at top. Reverse of cover with Jassy transit (fig. 288) datestamp (May 4), Fokschani cds (May 6) and 'Bucuresci/*' cds in blue (May 11) of Kiriac type 340 which was introduced in May 1862 and effectively dates the cover: thus this rare cover is also the latest recorded date of use of the Second Issue.
