    1869: Prince Milan, 15 pa. orange, perf. 9½ : 12, surface thinning at the bottom right value tablet, tied by BEOGRAD 24/IV cds with ornamentation (Kardosch type 6) to printed matter advertisement with black 'PD' alongside, sent to Palermo. Cover with horizontal fold not touching the stamp. One another printed matter 15 pa. franking known from the same correspondence, sent in 1873 to Switzerland (Collection Predrag Antic). Cert.     1876 (Aug 13): 10 pa. violet postal stationery card used to Alexsinac struck with very early usage of VOJENA POSTA / 3 (Field Post No. 3) Military datestamp in black (Rasic fig 3a). Fine and extremely rare the '3' being unrecorded by Rasic, this card also pre-dating the recorded use of the cancellation by five months.

    1878 (May 8/20): Military postal stationery card mailed from Nish to Austria franked by 1869/80 10 pa. brown tied by fair strike of blue "Army Post" datestamp, rare oval ARMY POST / HEADQUARTERS COMMAND in blue at right with manuscript date (Rasic fig. 10a). Reverse with Mauer arrival cds (May 26). Rare.

    1879 (Oct 10): Entire letter from Pirot to Nish, with superb bilingual sender's cachet at upper left alongside rare Cyrillic K. SERB. POSTA / PIROT datestamp in blue, reverse with fine strike of BOYNA POSTA / BPX. KOMANAE (Army Post / Headquarters Command) datestamp in black of the following day. The 1878 Treaty of Berlin had annexed Pirot to Serbia. An extremely rare and fine entire.

    Macedonia 1912 (Nov 12/25): Serbian Military postal card mailed to England and franked by Serbia 10 pa. red, tied by circular Arms handstamp in blue reading "Serbian Royal Railway Station at Uskub"; delightful content on reverse: "Uskub, new Servia: I have given your letter to a Major I know and he will see that the Censor passes it, so I hope it will arrive safely. Please keep this card and any more like it, they are given gratis to soldiers and to Serbia no stamp is required...they may be rare one day...Louis Cahen". An extraordinary Balkan War usage, the town of Uskub (renamed Skopje) only fell in October 1912 to the Serbian Foces.

    Macedonia 1913 (Jan 3): Serbian 10 pa. red postal card mailed to Louis Cahen (writer of the card to England in the previous lot) mailed from Veles (Koprulu) to Skopje (Uskub) and written in French by Milan Tetchmeintch, Commandant of the Serbian Army, cancelled by bold strike of Cyrillic Money Order datestamp of VELES in black. Somewhat damp and thus stained red but an exceedingly scarce Balkan War usage.
