    181873: 2 c. brown vertical pair, one with minor fault, used in combination with 10 c. brown on 1874 registered cover to Birmingham, UK tied by black cork cancels with "New York / Registered" below (Oct 3). Oval London Registered datestamp in red on front and arrival (Oct 15) on reverse. A scarce pre-UPU registered cover (6 cents postage + 8 cents registration).
