    1877: Registered cover from Mauthausen to the Doctor to His Majesty the Sultan in the Yildiz Palace in Constantinople, franked by 1867/74 5 kr. red and 15 kr. brown tied by 'Mauthhausen' single ring cds (Nov 28) in black. On arrival the cover was charged by the City Post for local delivery with 1866 Liannos Post Postage Due 10 paras black on yellow label with additional manuscript "1" (piastre) notation as the cover was not collected by the addressee (Foreign Post Offices within Turkey were not allowed to deliver mail direct). Manuscript notation at top "Reçu en Decembre 1877" and reverse with Austrian P.O. Constantinopel cds and Turkish Constantinople cds in blue (Dec 8). Cover with stiffening inside at top for protection and some ageing but a remarkable and rare usage. Cert. Scheller (2010).
