    1849 (Dec 28): Entire letter from Geelong to Dublin, Ireland locally prepaid and rated '3' in red, reverse with negative intaglio "GEELONG / ♕ / NEW S. WALES" Mailbag Seal used as despatch with manuscript date "31/12/49" inserted, and both London (April 7) and Dublin cds's in red adjacent (April 8, 1850). Sold together with a complete impression of the red wax seal, in a sunken frame, as utilised in the temporary handstamp. A spectacular and extremely rare pairing.rnrnProvenance: Collection J.R.W.
