1875 (Oct 14): Engraved 15 kreuzer in the 'kupferrot' Copper Red shade, perfectly tied to registered entire letter to Budapest by TAB datestamp in black (unrecorded by Gudlin on this issue). 'Ajanlott' handstamp of registration at upper left and reverse with Budapest arrival datestamp (Oct 16). The unique usage of this extremely rare stamp on entire letter, the only other recorded example being on a large part cover also being ex Corinphila (sale 56, October 1973, lot 5078) and later ex-Gary Ryan (Part 1, June 15, 1994, lot 817). This is then, without doubt the finer of the two known usages of this rare stamp on letter. An outstanding and important entire and a major Hungarian rarity of the First Issue. Cert. Ferchenbauer (2004).

Provenance: Dr. Anton & Elisabeth Jerger, Corinphila sale 144 (May 2005), lot 301.
