    1459/1856: Magnificent collection in four volumes with 185 pre-stamp or stampless covers from all over Europe, starting with early letters to Venice as 1459 entire letter showing scarce embossed seal of Franz I of Aragon from Naples,1766 letter with clear strike of circular 'Palma' handstamp in red, and 1794 letter from Corfu with 'V LETTERE.DA.MARE', 1658 and 1773 two diff. types of  British Bishop marks, 1811 'Guernsey' scroll handstamp, large crowned 'P' in red on 1771 letter from Paris to Rennes (only few days in use), taxed 4 in blue on 1779 letter from ARCIS to Troyes, '6 Jour Compl.re an II' Paris arrival mark, 'Bureau Royale de Correspondance' on 1787 letter to Auch, MONS negative seal on 1764 letter to Gand, 1784 letter 'v.AUGSBURG'  to Verona, single line Freudenstadt and Geisslingen, DE FRANCFORT (1784), WORMS on 1815 letter addressed to Duke Metternich in Paris, 1849 entire letter from Bergen to Spain, 1856 registered letter from Sassuolo to Modena. All selected clear strikes in black, red or blue with no duplication from Belgium (6), France (35), Germany (60), Great Britain and Ireland (8), Italy (30), Spain (6) among other countries as Poland, Portugal, Russia.
