    Napoleonic Occupation 1798 (Sept 19): Prepaid civilian entire letter from Alexandria to one Citizen Duffour in Cairo, well struck by lower case straight line "Alexandrie" handstamp (Smith Type II) in brownish-black, charged "4" sols in manuscript. A very early usage of this handstamp, rare and very fine. Signed Todd AIEP.
