    Ballon Monté 'Les Etats Unis' 1870: Entire franked by 1867 Laureated 20 c. blue tied by Paris Star obliterator with 'PARIS R. DES Vlles HAUDRtes 28 SEPT. 70' (4th levée) despatch cds alongside to Castres, garde mobile 7ème regt. Flown from besieged Paris in the 3rd Ballon 'Les Etats Unis' with Castres sur l'Agout arrival cds on reverse. The adhesive has a corner fault, but a very early and rare ballon. Lhéritier handbook 2000 = € 1'100 / Maury 2016 = € 775.
