    1871 (Sep 15): Diagonally bisected Siège 10 c. bistre plus 20 c. blue, each tied by lozenge Gros Chiffres '4273' and type 16 'Villers-Cotterêts' cds. alongside, on large part of entire to Paris with arrival mark (Sep 16) on reverse. Villers-Cotterêts is known to use bisected stamps to match the tariff change to 25 c. of September 1st, 1871 (see Yvert specialisé 1975, p. 161), signed Calves.

    1872: Entire letters (2) at 70 centimes rate to Norway, April 1872 entire with mixed issue franking of Laureated 1863/71 30 c. brown and 1871/75 Cérès 15 c. bistre and 25 c. blue, Nov 1872 entire with Laureated 30 c. brown and Siège 40 c. orange, both used from La Ferté-sous-Jouarre; one cover with petit chiffres '1196' and the other cancelled with gros chiffres. A delightful pair to a scarce destination.

    1875 (March 11): Combination cover to Bordeaux franked by Argentina 1867 10 c. green (Scott 18A) tied by Buenos Aires cds, carried on Paquebot "Niger" with France 1871/75 Cérès 10 c. bistre on rose (2, one with rounded corner perf.) and single 80 c. carmine all tied by dotted Anchor lozenge with octagonal "Buenos Ayres / Paq. Fr. J. No. 1" alongside in black (March 12). Bordeaux arrival cds on reverse (April 8). A delightful and rare cover.
