    1828/78: Documents, all concerning Disinfection with 1828 document from Alexandria signed by the Sardinian Consul, 1848 example detailing deaths in Alexandria between July and September 1848 (a staggering 3'870 people), "Patente di Sanita" from Damiette in 1867, one from Cefalonia (itself baked against cholera) concerning the Lazaret, 1850c. document detailing charges of Quarantine in Egypt and another with charges for the Ottoman Empire; some invoices, bills, one or two covers etc. A most interesting lot for the specialist.

    1846/65: Small collection of stampless covers with Posta Europea Cairo /Type I) in blue, 1857/59 entires with Type II Cairo in black (2), 1862 entire with mss. "postage to be collected" in blue crayon, Type IV Alexandria covers (3) with strikes in blue and black, Type IV Cairo in black on 1863 cover, 1862 entire from Samanud to Cairo, 1864 cover with "Kafr-Zayat" Type V handstamp, 1866 cover with 1 pi. used to Cairo etc. A fine lot.

    1670: Entire letter, toasted for disinfection, mailed from London to Livorno (Venturini correspondence) with manuscript "3" on front panel and fine strike of the extremely rare circular "FRANCHES" in brown at right (Van Der Linden fig. 1406) applied at the Foreign Branch in London. A magnificent and early entire in fine condition.

    1846 (June 19): Letter and envelope addressed to The King of the Two Sicilies, written from Buckingham Palace thanking Ferdinand for bestowing the Order of Merit on Prince Albert of England; letter written by a secretary but fully signed at base: "Sir, my brother, Your Majesty's good sister, Victoria". Extraordinary and very rare document.

    1860: Entire letter from Manchester via Ostend to Genova, Italy struck in transit at Aachen in red (30/5), thence via Susa-Torino Travelling Post Office with scarce "Diritto / Sardo 20 / Estero 90" handstamp with rates filled in manuscript (Van Der Linden fig. 976A) in black. A fine and unusual entire; also an entire from New Orleans mailed as Newspaper from London to Innsbruck via Aachen.
