With the Egyptian Expeditionary Forces'  addressed to Chief of Police Delhi showing three line special cachet "FIRST THROUGH AERIAL MAIL/GREAT BRITAIN TO INDIA/KARACHI 14.1.19" in purple, date corrected to '15' in manuscript with red ink, redirected to Phillaur in Punjab and backstamped on reverse "Imperial Section Delhi 21 JAN 19", "Kashmir Gate Delhi 22. Jan 19" as well as "Phillaur 23. Jan 19" arrival mark. Envelope with small tears on top and horizontal fold. A major Airmail rarity Firebrice: #RAFF 5.

E. F." in black. Arrival of "FPO-GMI" on reverse (April 12). Sensibly opened for Exhibit display, a fine and scarce cover Firebrace #EAM 3A.

    1924 (July 17): Cover from Baghdad via Cairo, addressed to Francis Field, Sutton Coldfield franked by Monarchy 1922 10 m. lake tied by "Continental Savoy / Cairo" datestamp in black, with manuscript on reverse 'Despatched from Baghdad by special plane carrying Sir H. Dobbs, High Commissioner, to Egypt and then posted in Cairo' and signed by Field, further manuscript above 'A reply by return will save a week'. Sir Henry Dobbs was High Commissioner of Iraq from 1923-29 and the longest serving Commissioner during the Mandate. A rare and most unusual cover.

    1926/60c.: Collection in a red album with 55 Airmail covers from 1926 with Flights to Teheran (2), 1929 with Imperial Airways covers to UK, Greece, Switzerland (cancelled "Simon Arzt") and Crete (with 'Give Your Letter Wings') label, 1931 African Flights, 1931 Zeppelin Flight with set of two on cover to Jerusalem, another similar cover to Austria and a card with 50 m. on 27 m. to Berne; 1933 Airmail usages from Simon Arzt Store, Cataract Hotel and Winter Palace Hotel usages (one is registered), 1933 Aviation Congress covers (2), Gaza usages incl. rare usage of the 1948 £1 on registered cover, later period covers with bar overprint varieities etc. A delightful lot in superb quality.

    Austrian Post Office in Alexandria 1867 (Nov 18): Cover from Cairo to Trieste franked for domestic rate with slightly toned 1867 1 pi. red tied by "Poste Vice Reali Egiziane-Cairo" cds's, thence via Austrian P.O. and franked additionally with Levant 1863-64 15 soldi brown, perf. 9½, corner perforation defect, tied by "Alexandrien" datestamp ink black (18/11). Triest arrival on reverse. Despite small imperfections, a scarce cover.
